Alexandria Patterson Earns Public Health Student Achievement Award

Alexandria Patterson, a master's degree student in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University, received the school's annual Public Health Student Achievement Award.

Patterson of Raleigh was presented with the honor during the school's Spring 2017 Convocation in May.

The award is given annually to a graduate student in recognition of their outstanding academic performance, scholarly contributions to the field of public health, and service to the community.

Patterson earned her Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in health promotion and behavior. She will be working full-time as a project coordinator in the field of maternal and child health at the university's National SafeCare Training and Research Center

Previously, she worked as a graduate research assistant with the school's Dads to Kids program, which provides parent training to reduce the risk of child maltreatment by fathers. She also was a member of the school's Public Health Student Association.
