Akilah Heggs presents public health research into childhood concussions at 2016 APHA annual meeting

Akilah Heggs, of Villa Rica (30180), a student at Georgia State University's School of Public Health, presented research on concussions in children at the 2016 American Public Health Association (APHA) annual meeting, held Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 in Denver, Colo.

Heggs explored the natural course of recovery for children and youth who experience persistent concussion symptoms.

The American Public Health Association is a national nonprofit working to advance the health of all people and all communities, as well as providing a science-based voice in policy debates.
